£330 per person includes DBB each day, a 4 course Christmas lunch and much more…
For years family and friends have enjoyed a traditional Christmas break with us.
Imagine wakening up on Christmas morning to stunning views over the local fells - if 2009 was anything to go by they could well be covered in a dusting of snow making the sight even more magical. Don’t worry though the hotel is surprisingly easy to access what ever the weather.
Downstairs, the fire will be roaring and our team of chefs will be busy preparing delicious menus bursting with flavour and local produce, including beef and lamb bred only 3 miles away on our own farm.
On top of this, there’ll be a warm Westmorland welcome and a wealth of entertainment.

Arrive Christmas Eve and relax with afternoon tea by the warmth of our open log fire.
Later, local carol singers will join us for a sing song and a glass of mulled wine to get you in the festive spirit.
A three course candlelit dinner served in our award winning restaurant will begin with handmade canapés at a time to suit you.
Afterwards, you might like to complete our Christmas quiz – there’s a prize for winner.
For the true meaning of Christmas, why not visit the local church for
Christmas Day breakfast will include a glass of fizz, flavoured with a locally made blackcurrant liqueur and presents for all.
The rest of the morning can be spent opening presents, catching up with friends or working up an appetite with a brisk walk in the fresh Cumbrian air whilst working out clues on our treasure hunt.
The main event of the day will be a 4 course Christmas lunch, followed by coffee and petit fours. Christmas music will be playing in the background and there'll be crackers for everyone.
Following with tradition, the Queen’s speech will be shown in the lounge. Then, relax or play board games before a light buffet is served in the evening.

A hearty Cumbrian breakfast will set you up for a day exploring the Lake District.
Wrap up warm ready for a cruise on England’s largest Lake – Windermere.
The day is then yours to do as you please, why not catch the first of the sales at Lakeland Limited? popular with visitors, it’s the home of creative kitchenware. From there the market town of Kendal is always a hive of activity and is an ideal stop off on your way back to the hotel.
In the evening, a 2 course hot and cold buffet with delicious desserts will be followed by a glass of bubbly and an evening of entertainment.

- Arrive from 2pm, leaving plenty of time to enjoy afternoon tea by the open log fire.
- Return to the comfort of our Classic bedrooms with luxurious bathrooms - the perfect time to test our handmade organic soap and shampoo in a hot bath!
- In the lounge a glass of chilled sparkling wine and canapés await your return.
- A delicious 4 course candlelit dinner will be served in our award winning restaurant - black tie is not requested, but feel free to dress for the occasion.
- As Big Ben strikes twelve, we will gather together to welcome in the New Year.
