Valentines Break 2010
2 night break, between 12-14 February 

Celebrate Valentines Day on the outskirts of the romantic Lake District.
Arrive at the hotel on either Friday or Saturday night and stay with us for 2 nights of relaxation.
A delicious Cumbrian breakfast  is included each morning - the ideal start to your day.
A bottle of chilled sparkling wine, chocolate dipped strawberries and a box of handmade chocolates  will be in your room on arrival.
As we expect most people to be heading home on Sunday, ready for work on Monday, our main celebration will be on Saturday night, when you can enjoy a glass of Blackberry Sparkle and handmade canapes by the open log fire, before a candlelit dinner in our award winning restaurant.  Our chefs have prepared a delicious 4 course Valentines menu, followed by freshly brewed coffee and petit fours.

Don't worry, if you're still here on Sunday night the restaurant will be candlelit again and we have a delicious a la carte menu you can choose from.

3 Day Christmas Break 2009

For over 10 years groups of families and friends have been staying with us and enjoying a traditional Christmas break, relaxing in front of the log fire whilst we take care of the turkey.
Imagine wakening up in a luxurious bedroom with views over the Cumbrian fells, then enjoying delicious menus made with locally sourced ingredients and an exciting entertainment package.

For three days, that’s exactly what we’ve got in store for you. Take a look…

Arrive Christmas Eve and relax with afternoon tea by the warmth of our open log fire.
Later, our local carol singers will join us for a sing song and a glass of mulled wine to get you in the festive spirit.
A three course candlelit dinner served in our award winning restaurant will begin with handmade canapés at a time to suit you.
Afterwards, you might like to complete our Christmas quiz – there’s a prize for winner.
For the true meaning of Christmas, why not visit the local church for Midnight Mass?  We’ll have a mug of hot chocolate ready for when you get back to warm you up before bed.

Christmas Day breakfast will include a glass of fizz, flavoured with a locally made blackcurrant liqueur and presents for all.
The rest of the morning can be spent opening presents, catching up with friends or working up an appetite with a brisk walk in the fresh Cumbrian air whilst working out clues on our treasure hunt.
The main event of the day will be a 4 course Christmas lunch, followed by coffee and petit fours. Christmas music will be playing in the background and there'll be crackers for everyone.
Following with tradition, the Queen’s speech will be shown in the lounge.  Then, relax or play board games before a light buffet is served in the evening.

Boxing Day
A hearty Cumbrian breakfast will set you up for a day exploring the Lakes.
Your tickets are booked for a cruise on Ullswater, where you can enjoy a round trip between Glenridding and Pooley Bridge or take half the journey and walk back along the lakeside. 
From here, there’s a stunning drive to Grasmere – famous for its gingerbread shop and you can follow the road straight through to Windermere.
Back at the hotel a 2 course hot and cold buffet with delicious desserts will be followed by a glass of bubbly and an evening of entertainment.

New Years Eve 2009

We're holding last years rate, only £99 per person

If loud music and  crowds of people aren't the way you want to bring in the New Year, then The Westmorland Hotel might be just what you're looking for.
Join us for a sophisticated evening, celebrating with delicious food and wine.

• Arrive from 2pm, leaving plenty of time to enjoy afternoon tea by the open log fire.
  Return to the comfort of our Classic bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms - the perfect time to test our handmade organic soap and shampoo in a hot bath!
• In the lounge a glass of chilled sparkling wine and canapés await your return.
• A delicious 4 course candlelit dinner will be served in our award winning restaurant - black tie is not requested, but feel free to dress for the occasion.
• As Big Ben strikes twelve, we will gather together to welcome in the New Year.
• Start 2010, as you mean to go on with a leisurely brunch served between 9am and 11am.

Black and White Winter Ball

Saturday 12 December 2009 - £29.95 per person

7pm Arrive to a warm welcome and a Westmorland Roulette Cocktail by the warmth of our open 
log fire, whilst exciting background music sets the mood.
7.30pm Our 3 course Christmas Dinner followed by coffee will be served in our award winning restaurant, with party goodies and a black and white themed table quiz.
8.30pm Try your hand at our casino tables and see if your luck is in.
9.15pm The winner of the black and white will be announced and presented with a bottle of fizz
9.30pm Disco 2000 will begin for the ultimate in Christmas dance music
12.30am Depart
