Lake District Restaurants nr. Penrith and Kendal - Overview

Cumbria is now recognised nationally as a leading food destination with over 60 local food producers, many of which have won national awards.  Westmorland is very much part of this success story.  We are a small family business which has grown out of our farm at Orton, less than a mile from the hotel, we are proud of our homemade food and keen to promote local talent.

In 2003, we opened the first farm shops on a British motorway which sell carefully selected local and artisan speciailities and over 40 British farmhouse cheeses.  In 2008 we opened a Butchers counter with a meat maturing and cutting room.  From this all the lamb and beef we serve throughout our business comes from our farm, ensuring maximum traceablity, minimum food miles and consistent high quality.
